Position Overview

We are seeking a part-time Apartment Assistant Maintenance/Porter to join our team and play a crucial role in maintaining the upkeep of our 100-unit property in South Bend. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring our residents have a safe and comfortable living environment.

Maintenance

  • Responsible for upkeep of grounds, amenities, building exteriors, common areas, parking lots, and other community buildings.
  • Remove trash from the common areas and the apartment community perimeter daily.
  • Assist in preparing units, including removing trash from vacant apartments (trash outs) before make-ready.
  • Assist the Maintenance Technician/Property Manager and/or perform assigned maintenance tasks on time.
  • Assist in the cleaning of available apartments and or models.
  • Assist in the troubleshooting/repair of mechanical, carpentry, electrical problems, painting, drywall repair.
  • Report any maintenance concerns for repairs on available apartments, models, clubhouse, and/or common areas to the Maintenance Technician.

Leasing

  • Meticulously maintains curb appeal.
  • Assist management team with other various tasks required.

Resident Relations

  • Professionally represent the community at all times on/off property.
  • Deliver communication documentation to residents.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; interest in technical training or certification in maintenance or related field preferred.
  • Proven ability in general maintenance and repair work, preferably in a residential or multifamily housing setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to work.
